Now might be an excellent time for someone at the Tennessee Ethics Commission to go into hiding.

As fellow blogger Ben Cunningham pointed out to me this week, Tennessee Entertainment Enterprise is planning to hold a reception for state legislators before Saturday’s exhibition game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat at the FedExForum.

TEE’s special guest for the reception is Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, a Memphis native who won the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s light heavyweight title earlier this year.

Which is all fine and good. As Cunningham pointed out to me, Jackson could probably be an effective lobbyist for pretty much any cause he decided to champion.

But in its list of upcoming lobbyist-sponsored events, the ethics commission refers to the reception’s special guest as Quinton 'Ramage' Johnson.

Maybe there’s hope for the bureaucrat who committed that blunder. According to Wikipedia, Jackson is known in the UFC for his sense of humor.

I certainly wouldn’t want to be the one to put the limits of that humor to the test, though.
