What are you reading?

Well, obviously, you're reading the Showcase of Thoughts!  But what else are you reading?  Do you read at all?  Horror books?  Mysteries?  Don't tell me you read those sappy love-stories!  Well, I have a few books that I can't wait to read.  So, just like Oprah, I guess you could call this blog the Five Starr Book Club!

In my collection of books, I already have the likes of :  Pure Dynamite, Have a Nice Day, Controversy Creates Cash, To Be The Man, Missy Hyatt's book... you name it, I have it.  Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not a book-nerd.  I don't read for fun.  I just have to have something to do while I'm doing cardio at the gym.  So, I usually strap on a pair of headphones, rock out... and read a book.  That's right... I can do all three at the same time.  I'm Five Starr... what can I say?

Pure Dynamite (Dynamite Kid's book) was great.  It was probably my favorite.  That one and Ric Flair's.  It just seemed liked they were both pretty honest.  I'm sure Flair could've told many more stories about the women and drugs... but I can understand why he didn't.  Dynamite was full-fledged bitter about the wrestling business.  He didn't have anything to hide.  He went full-force.  I don't think there was a boring part to the book.

Next on my list?  Well, there's two that are coming out this month that I just have to read.  I'll probably whip through them pretty quickly.

Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling

I can't wait to read this one.  I'm sure that much of the book will be bogus wrestling stories like many of them are.  But I'm such a huge Bret Hart fan, I'm looking forward to hearing some of the craziness that he IS willing to tell.  Maybe he'll finally admit the entire Montreal Screwjob was a total work (fake).  Maybe he'll make mention of the story Dynamite Kid told about him and Bret smoking crack together.  I'm really looking forward to see how much he buries Ric Flair... especially after Flair bad-mouthed Bret in HIS book.

Not to mention, think of the stories that he could tell about the rest of the Hart Foundation.  I don't know about you, but I absolutely loved hearing Bret tell stories about Owen and Bulldog at his Hall of Fame induction.

What can I say?  I'm a huge mark for the Hitman.

A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex

I think this book may break a record.  It could possibly be the best book ever.  The reason I say this?  Well, just by watching his appearances on CNN over the past few months, you can tell the guy is very smart.  He's not only intelligent but he's very articulate, too.

Jericho has done a lot in the wrestling business.  He's worked for ECW, WCW and WWE.  I'm sure he's got tons of stories to tell about his time in WCW.  From what I have gathered through stories, friends and such... Jericho hated Eric Bischoff's guts.  So, maybe we'll get a little insight on that.

I have a birthday right around the corner... sooo... maybe I'll get a few gifts.  Hint, hint... wink, wink.  If not, I'll have to get them myself.  But I think these two books will keep me pretty busy, at least for a month or two.

If you've read any of the books that I've mentioned above, post a comment on what you thought about them.  I'd like to hear it.
