Crazy for coffee
Leave a comment for this entry at Whining & DiningI am surrounded by coffee drinkers. Most of my co-workers drink it all day, my daughter could probably pay rent on what she plunks down at Starbucks, and my husband is addicted. Honestly, he'll heat a cup of yesterday's coffee in the microwave to gulp while he waits for the morning coffee to brew. Yuck!
I'm good for two cups a day, maybe three on a lazy Sunday. And it's only in the morning, just to get my eyes open. If my husband gets out of bed before me and has made it through his second cup of coffee, I just have to walk out of the room. He's ready for full conversation while I'm still puzzling through a dream. It drives me nuts!
Anyway, I spotted this over the weekend when I was shopping, and I'm a little embarrassed to say that I'm trading in the little 10-cup, self-grinding coffee maker that I love for a HUGE 14-cup monster. This is a sacrifice, but it will--hopefully--keep Bob from having to brew two pots of coffee every morning. I guess the next step would have to be one of those silver commercial percolators...
And I'm once again giving though to switching to tea. I've tried several of the Taze morning teas and probably all of the standards over the years. I tend to drink herb teas at night instead of caffeine-filled ones in the a.m., but I'm open to suggestions. Know of any that'll make my eyes pop?
