I guess I'm not too surprised to hear that, before he was a musician, Luther Dickinson of The North Mississippi Allstars was an artist; he had a show at the Brooks when he was 18. So I was fascinated to read about the inspiration for Luther's latest art in Michael Donahue's column today: magnolia blossoms. "I just love 'em. I remember as a kid wandering out in the yard and drinking the dew out of (the petals)." That's Dickinson and Tom Foster, his collaborator.
